About this venue

Tucked into the golden hills outside Matera, Masseria Fontana di Vite is an 18th-century estate steeped in history - once the country home of the aristocratic Gattini family, whose crest, a cat with a viper in its mouth, still watches over the entrance arch today. Surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and wheat fields, and just 7 km from Matera - one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world - it's a setting that feels like stepping into another era, entirely your own for the weekend.

Reserved exclusively for each wedding, the estate comes alive around you: exchange vows in one of several romantic spots dotted around the grounds, including the estate's own church, before celebrating beneath the stars by the pool, in the sun-warmed courtyard, or under the rustic beams of the roofless warehouse. Two elegant indoor halls stand ready should the weather turn, so nothing is left to chance.

With 19 rooms sleeping 38 guests on site - and room for more with additional beds - couples and their closest family and friends can truly live in the celebration together, waking up to breakfast on the estate each morning. And the party doesn't have to end with the ceremony: welcome receptions, pizza parties, brunches and long lazy lunches can all be woven into a wedding weekend that feels entirely your own.

Just 40 minutes from Bari Airport, Masseria Fontana di Vite makes it easy for guests to travel from across Europe to share in the celebration.

Pricing details:
