Château de Longpré sits at the foothills of the Pyrenees in Varilhes, in the heart of the Ariège, just 35 minutes from Toulouse and within easy reach of the Spanish border. Originally built in the 18th century as a country residence for a bishop, the estate was later remodelled by a Parisian architect and, in the 19th century, transformed into its present classical form by the Vicomtesse de Satgé, a relative of the Duke of Wellington, who added two English-style gardens. Since 2016, the château has been lovingly restored by the Cantos family into a warm and luxurious estate for private celebrations, while staying true to its history.
The grounds combine manicured French gardens, a working vineyard and sweeping countryside views, offering couples a choice of ceremony settings - in front of the elegant château façade or beside the tranquil fountain. Tucked away from view at the heart of the gardens, a 7x4 metre swimming pool (max. 30 people) offers an intimate, welcoming spot to cool off and relax - a true haven of freshness for guests staying on site. As evening falls, the celebration can move into the high-ceilinged Orangerie, seating up to 150 guests, or one of the Art Deco "Verrières", with their sweeping views toward the mountains. For a more relaxed atmosphere, dinner can also be served al fresco beneath a Bedouin-style tent. For larger celebrations, the grounds comfortably welcome up to 200 guests.
Inside, the château's character continues through a wood-panelled bar, a book-lined library, a billiard room and a grand double staircase, alongside a fireside salon made for quieter, more intimate moments.
Eight luxury en-suite rooms sleep up to 26 guests on site, including a dazzling 45m² suite reserved for the couple to get ready in. For an unforgettable arrival - or a day trip across the border - the estate even has its own helipad, with Andorra just a short flight away.
